Summer Holiday Clubs Week 6

Over the last few weeks during the school Summer holidays Junior Jam have been working alongside TLG to deliver holiday clubs as part of the DfE’s 2019 Holiday Activities and Food Programme. Funding has been provided for a number of schools across the Bradford district so that they can tackle the problem of holiday hunger for children, and also give them access to a wide range of activites.

We are now coming to the end of the final week of clubs, and this week we have been working in Bradford Academy, Farfield Primary School, Lapage Primary School and Nursery, Frizinghall Primary School and Lilycroft Primary School.

Once again, as with all the other clubs that have been running over Summer, participation numbers have been high and naturally the children have been having a great time. Not only have they been doing physical activites such as dodgeball, football, cricket and basketball, but they have also been learning technical skills such as creating music, filming and design using the latest software on iPads. Every child also receives a free healthy packed lunch each day they attend.

It has been one of the best Summers we have had as an organisation. Although it has been challenging with the number of schools and children we have had to provide for, it has also been one of the most rewarding. We could not have done this without the commitment, skill and expertise of our fantastic staff, and we have been blessed with some of the most enthusiastic and pleasant children we have worked with.

We are proud to say that the future for Bradford looks very bright as there are some truly talented, intelligent and forward-thinking young people in our city. We wish them all the best for the new school year.
