Junior Jam's iAnimate for Reception and Keystage 1 pupils is a great introduction into the worlds of 2D, computer-generated and stop motion animation using iPads. Pupils gain basic into how their favourite cartoons and films are made, explaining how such films are created and the time and patience required to film them. Using iPads, pupils are taught how to create and edit their own short animated sequences adding sound effects, music and transitions. Pupils completing iAnimate Lite Level 2 will see how programming can be used as a animation tool as they code their own short feature using Scratch Junior. Keystage 2 pupils will visit Animation during their iCreate module. Each level build on skills they learnt in the previous, all our instructors follow specific learning objectives to ensure your pupils are being taught to the Nation Curriculum and they are attaining the levels they should for their year group. While pupils in Keystage 1 are completing iAnimate, Keystage 2 pupils will be completing the iOffice module.
Students will learn about 2D and 3D animation. Using a variety of apps students will animate characters and draw cartoons, thinking about how to express emotion by manipulating facial expressions and recording their voices.
During iMove, pupils will learn about ‘Stop Motion’ animation. They will gain a number of animating skills to create their own stop motion animation on an iPad. Pupils will have to create a plot and overcome the challenges involved in animating multiple objects and characters within one frame.
This course focuses on 2D and hand drawn animation. Pupils will learn how to bring two dimensional drawings to life through use of the app ‘Do Ink Animation’. They will animate a given story line on ‘Scratch Jr’, mixing coding into their creativity, as well as creating their own animated Lego figure and finally create a flip book.
