Introducing Class Jam!
The Junior Jam team are excited to announce that there are going to be some new additions to our music courses starting from September 2021!
The first new course we have added is called ‘Class Jam. ’ A core part of any successful musician is being able to have outstanding teamwork skills and the ability to work with other musicians to form full songs with an array of instruments and techniques. This course aims to give children that opportunity and helps children work on their self-confidence with the instruments at the same time! The course involves pupils building on their musical skills using a range of instruments from Glockenspiel, African drums, Samba drums, Boomwhackers, Percussion and Voice. Using all the musical skills we will teach; they will be challenged to create music pieces and songs using all the instruments provided and everybody playing a role in a song. By the end of this course, children will have the ability and skills to perform songs as a class with each pupil playing an instrument that has a role in the song.
Also being introduced, we are offering pupils the chance to learn the ukulele! This course will give each pupil the opportunity to learn the techniques required to play this well-known instrument. Our music instructors will be provided with 30 ukuleles so that every pupil can have the opportunity to learn how to play this instrument! Our new course will be available for both KS1 and KS2 pupils. They will learn the basics of how to play the ukulele, the history of the instrument, and how to play from sheet music. By the end of the course, pupils will be able to use all this new musical knowledge by performing some well-known songs as a class and individually.
We are also adding Glockenspiels to our Song writing courses. This course currently has 6 different levels covering EYFS, Keystage 1 and Keystage 2. Adding glockenspiels will add a new element to the children’s ability to write suitable songs as they will now have the chance to pair their lyric writing skills with an instrument. Across these levels, KS1 and KS2 pupils will learn how to write their own song / rap, learn to write music for moving images, and will also learn a host of lyric writing techniques. For EYFS pupils, they will learn this new instrument and learn to play a number of simple songs suited to their ability.
We can’t wait to get stuck into teaching our new courses! If you would like to learn anymore about our new music courses, then please let our team know by emailing info@juniorjam.co.uk .
